The results of the Council Elections for 2009 were as follows:

Election of Ordinary Members

Total ballot papers received:          600
Spoilt papers:                                        4
Valid Vote:                                          596

Under the STV (Single Transferable Vote) System  one candidate received sufficient votes so as to exceed the quota (119). After allocating second and other preference votes in accordance the following candidates, given in alphabetical order were duly elected to serve on the Council for the next three years.
