The Transportation Professional Panel monitors the production and delivery of the magazine of the Institution 'Transportation Professional'. The magazine features industry news, events, profiles, technical papers and also news on the activities of CIHT.

Primary Objectives of the Panel

  • Agree and keep under review the Editorial Policy of Transportation Professional. 
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Transportation Professional as means of communication with both the profession as a whole and the membership in line with editorial policy.
  • Assess whether Transportation Professional adequately covers the range of interest of the membership and potential membership.
  • Assess whether Transportation Professional adheres to the editorial policy and measure success against agreed objectives and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Encourage means by which the magazine is produced within the budget set by the trustees.
  • Monitor and optimise the commercial potential of Transportation Professional.
  • Monitor formal periodical reviews of the magazine’s contract with its print and production suppliers.
  • Liaise with the Technical Boards and the Editor on technical content in the magazine.
  • Report the panel’s progress and work to the next available meeting of the External Affairs and Communications Strategy Board.

  • To be a voice for the profession
  • To support transport professionals and their standing within the industry
  • To stimulate debate within the transport industry
