Michelle Wood is a Director of the London based Michelle Wood Consulting Ltd offering dynamic and customised specialist planning and engineering services. Michelle is an experienced transport planner and traffic engineer with over 25 years experience in managing and leading single and multi-disciplinary projects for both public and private sector clients. She has lived and worked in UK, Finland, China (including Hong Kong), Singapore, Bangladesh, Uganda and Guyana.
She has key UK and international experience in the areas of integrated transport, urban traffic networks, sustainable transport and development planning. Michelle has gained considerable expertise in technical evaluation, design, and implementation, project management, people and team management and building, strategy and planning, financial management and office start-up. She is committed to innovative transport planning and the introduction of international best practice to ensure delivery of quality projects.
Michelle has been an active member of the London Branch over the past 15 years. She is a reviewer for the Institution'sTransport Planning Professional qualification as well as being a mentor for candidates aspiring to gain the qualification.

Ross Corben has worked for Westminster City Council's term traffic and transportation consultants since February 2003. He continues to work on a variety of transport schemes including streetscape improvements, parking, traffic management (safety), and cycling studies. Previous experience has included cycling work for the Corporation of the City of London, Transport for London and for the London Borough of Lewisham and a short period at the London Borough of Harringey after graduating with an MSc from Imperial College in 2002. He has been a member of the CIHT since 2004 and has sat on the Greater London Branch Committee since 2008.

Philip Loy (BA MIHT) is A consultant specialising in cycling, principally in the field of traffic engineering (highway design) but also working with colleagues to develop cycling in other areas such as development planning, travel planning/ marketing, and economic appraisal. Philip provides technical advice and support both to clients and other project managers for various studies and schemes. Philip has previously worked in cycling development for the London Borough of Lambeth, UK transport charity Sustrans, and the London Cycling Campaign, consolidating his earlier stakeholder experience in design consultation for cycling schemes. Having worked both for and with local authorities, Philip has a broad understanding of the technical and political considerations that cycle implementation often requires. His recent work includes cycle route strategies as well as design recommendations, and has been heavily involved in a major programme of cycle route studies for Transport for London and various London boroughs.

Sarah is a Senior Consultant at Jacobs, based in the Tower Bridge office, and has eight years experience in transport planning and environmental science.
During her time in transport planning she has had wide ranging project exposure and this has aided her to develop broad expertise; however she specialises in sustainable transport, development planning and strategy development. Her development planning experience has included the preparation of Transport Assessments for a variety of land uses and the development of transport strategies, and provision of high level transport advice, for major high profile masterplanning projects. The encouragement of shift towards more sustainable modes has been a key component of these, and other, strategic planning projects which she has worked on. This has included the preparation of Local Implementation Plans (LIPs), supplementary planning documents and strategies relating to sustainable travel. She is also experienced in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns for sustainable transport initiatives and in the practical application of accessibility planning tools such as Accession (outside of London) and CAPITAL (within London).
Sarah is an accomplished project manager, having successfully managed commissions for both public and private sector clients, and is therefore experienced in team and programme management.
She has been a member of the CIHT for the past 5 years and has recently joined the CIHT Greater London Branch Committee and Young Professionals Committee

Alison is a Senior Transport Planner at Ove Arup & Partners Alison based in London and has over five years experience in Transport Planning. She specialises in development planning, primarily undertaking Transport Assessments and Travel Plans for both public and private sector clients.
Her expertise includes master planning and the development of transport strategies for residential and commercial land uses, to reduce the need to travel, discourage car use and to promote sustainable transport modes. She also carries out junction modelling using a variety of industry recognised software packages, including LinSig and TRANSYT. Alison has been actively involved in public consultation events for a number of development schemes and is experienced in working with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Alison has an MSc in Transport Planning from the University of Leeds. She is an active member of CIHT and has recently joined the Greater London Committee. She is now involved in setting up the Young Professionals Committee to represent the views of Younger Members of the Institution.
Lucy Godfrey is a graduate transport planner at Transport for London. She studied Geography at Leeds University and started on TfL’s graduate scheme in September 2009. She is developing her experience in transport planning and has been involved in a number of walking and cycling schemes at TfL. Lucy has worked on the Legible London pedestrian signage project as well as promoting walking both externally and internally. She has also gained experience in junction design and modelling using LinSig as well as stakeholder consultation.
She is studying for a masters part time in ‘Transport and Sustainable Development’ at Imperial College London. This will develop her understanding of transport planning and economics as well as her knowledge of transport and sustainability issues. Lucy is a recent member of CIHT and is helping to set up the Young Members Committee which aims to recruit younger members to the institute and tailor presentations and events to a younger audience.
