Martyn has worked as a Civil Engineer for 24 years and was previously employed by Costain before joining Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd in 2004.

Martyn was educated at Sheffield Polytechnic and is a Fellow on the Institution of Highways and Transportation. He is a member of the Wales Advisory Committee for Construction Skills and a past Chairman of the South Wales Construction Safety Group.

Additionally, he is a member of the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team and a Trustee of the Wales Air Ambulance.

Corinna works for the Welsh Assembly Government and has over 8 years experience across the UK in both the private and public sectors including local and central government.  After graduating Corinna moved to South Wales to work in the field of highways and transportation, first specialising in travel plans and transport assessments and then broadening her expertise to regional transport planning including transport appraisal and monitoring.

Claudia is responsible for developing the first industry recognised qualification for transport planners, the TPP, that is on a par with CEng recognition.  She chaired the working group from inception to the launch of the TPP in March 2008.  She has been a committee member since 1997 and has been Secretary, Chairman (the first female chairperson for the branch) and is now Treasurer.  She has represented the Branch at Council for the last 4 years.

 Mike has over 30 years of experience working as client and consultant in the Public and Private sectors. He was previously employed by Faber Maunsell/AECOM as an Associate Director before joining URS Corporation for a short period. John teaches and researches in novel soil- and cement-based materials for international development of sustainable infrastructure. With co-workers, he has developed a strong research base in Civil Engineering, with a strong bias towards the utilisation of industrial and agricultural waste in construction. Examples of waste studied include utilization of industrial waste: tyres, ashes; agricultural waste from the growing of: coffee, sugar cane, palm oil, nuts and pineapples, among others.

Denys graduated from Liverpool University in 1966 with a first class Honours degree, and gained experience in highway and bridges with West Riding CC, North Eastern RCU, South Yorkshire CC and Sheffield Council (UA), before joining West Glamorgan CC in 1987 as Deputy County Engineer and Surveyor, becoming the first Director of Highways and Environment in 1991 and Chief Officer at Neath Port Talbot, responsible for a multi-disciplinary Directorate.  

Appointed as ICE’s Executive Secretary in Wales. In 2001 and retired in May 2008.

Kim is a past Chairman of the South Wales Branch.
He leaves a legacy of a permanent base for the Institution at Bay Chambers and increased cooperation between North and South Wales Branches.

Kim is a graduate of the University of Wales.  He worked in Local Government for 5 years before joining Veryard and Partners.  He has also worked for Wallace Evans and Maunsells.  A Chartered Civil Engineer, Kim is a fellow of both IHT and ICE.  He is a Supervising Civil Engineer and undertakes professional reviews for ICE.

Keith was in Local Government from 1967, holding a range of posts involving engineering, highways, infrastructure and drainage.  Subsequently, he was Operational Manager Highways at the Vale of Glamorgan Council, a post held for a number of years.  In this Chief Officer post, he was responsible for all highways and highway maintenance operations including management of the DSO contractor contracting unit as well as Environmental Manager. 

He has been the Director of ICE Wales Cymru since May 2008. 

Keith is a Member of the Wales Advisory Committee of ConstructionSkills and a Member of the WAG Climate Change Adaptation Group.  He is also a Member of Industrial Liaison Panel, University of Wales, Newport and a Board Member, Constructing Excellence Wales. 

He is a former Chairman of the CSS Wales Engineering Committee and member of the UK Roads Board, advising Government on Highways issues.

Having spent the past 36 years employed in a variety of senior positions within Tarmac’s Welsh business, Anthony has recently set up a new aggregates supply company, United Recycled Aggregates Limited.The business is designed to meet the ever increasing trend toward utilising both recycled and secondary aggregates in highway and general construction projects throughout Wales.

In accepting the Chairmanship of the South Wales branch of the Institution of Highways and Transportation, Anthony expressed his delight at being appointed, but went on to say that although the activities of the branch were still highly successful, the major challenge we faced was to ensure that the annual programme  became even more appealing to the general membership.This would not only increase the numbers attending branch functions but also attract new members to the organisation.This he said would remain a key area of development over the coming two years of his chairmanship.

Anthony is a former Chairman of the Quarry Products Association in Wales and past Chairman of the South Wales Branch of the Institute of Quarrying.He is currently a Council member and National Chairman of the Institute of Quarrying and sits on several steering committees organised by the Welsh Assembly Government.

Anthony is a keen golfer and can be found most week-ends searching for his golf balls around the Pyle and Kenfig Golf Course, near Porthcawl.He is also a lifelong Chelsea F C Supporter and enjoys seeing his side play at Stamford Bridge whenever possible.
