Professor Stuart Cole

Professor Stuart Cole is the Professor of Transport and former Director of the Wales Transport Research Centre at the University of Glamorgan.  With over 30 years of experience in transport he has undertaken numerous transport studies covering transport strategy at a local and national level, public transport and investment appraisal.

He was previously Director of Transport Research and Consultancy (TRaC) at the University of North London (1979–2001) (now London Metropolitan University) with a personal chair in transport, transport Adviser to the English Tourism Council (1998–2000), and House Of Commons Advisor on Transport (1984 - 2011).

He is currently advising the Welsh Government on HSR, electrification of the GWML and the planned national bus and coach network.
