Continuing Professional Development is a means of development planning that enables learning to be linked with practice. It can help keep skills up to date in preparation for greater responsibilities, boost confidence and make work more interesting. Most importantly, CPD can increase job satisfaction and improve career development. All this makes CPD an important part of upgrading to chartered membership.
Also, to transfer to another class of membership in CIHT or to get a CIHT qualification, or to prepare for a job appraisal, you will need to keep a CPD record sheet and a Personal Development Plan.
The Branch attendance record for events offers CPD certificates on request. Non-members are invited to join CIHT and, so far this year, 11% of them have applied for membership.
