Welcome to the South Wales Branch of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT).
With over 450 members, the Branch offers support for professionals pursuing qualifications such as Chartered and Incorporated Engineer status and the Transport Planning Professional, along with encouragement, advice and support for graduates and students.
The Branch Committee provides networking opportunities with a calendar of Branch Events covering industry hot topics that offer our members opportunities to extend their experience and knowledge through CPD Certificates. We also run a very popular branch Annual Seminar that attracts delegates from across the UK.
The calendar includes exciting social events for our members including the Annual Dinner which is the social highlight of the year, an annual 5-a-side football competition and the golf Locan Cup.
The Branch provides advice to the Welsh Assembly Government on transportation matters and notably, our members are involved in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of the M4 motorway across South Wales, as well as the two bridges that cross the River Severn, and the A449 Midlands Link.
