The South Wales launch of the TPP, at the Hilton (Cardiff) on 30 June 2008, was attended by over 30 delegates at varying points in their careers. All were interested in the new qualification. Claudia Currie had chaired the working group through the brainstorming process until the Professional Standards Committee was established in March 2008 following the official launch of the TPP in London. To date two pilot reviews have taken place in June and December with approximately a 50% success rate in June. Most who did not succeed were ‘too early in their career experiences’.

 

The speakers were Derek Palmer (CIHT) who was appointed to push the Business case through the consultation stage, Sue Stevens (CIHT) explaining the role of IHT in the administration of the TPP, Martin Richards (TPS) who developed the national Standards on which the TPP is based, Claudia Currie (Senior Route Candidate) and Corrina Green (Standard Route Candidate).
