The Branch visted the A470 Cwmbach to Newbridge scheme on 5 May.  A small turnout but an interesting project.

The scheme is 5.8km in length and comprises a new single carriageway road between a point approximately 2km north west of Builth Wells and the southern limit of Newbridge-on-Wye. 

The road will have a carriageway width of 7.3m with three significant structures along its length, including crossing two rivers, the Heart of Wales Railway and the existing A470.

 

A presentation was made by Jas Sandhu, Senior Project Manager, Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd, followed by a tour of the site.

 

After the tour, members were invited to a buffet Lunch at the kind invitation of Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd.
