Stem Ambassadors

Laura Menendez Gonzalez"I only recently became a CIHT STEM Ambassador in January 2017. However, it has proven to be a very rewarding experience. I am dedicated to inspiring the next generation into STEM and I am specially focused on breaking stereotypes and encouraging young women to broaden their career perspectives. I usually jump at the opportunity to carry out any activity in girls-only schools.  As a result of my enthusiasm for this, I have been asked by specific schools to return to give extra talks around the construction, transportation and highways industry and the different opportunities that are out there.

I find doing STEM activities really rewarding. The best feedback you can get is seeing how pupils start thinking differently and considering things outside of their comfort zone. They often act spontaneously and so if they are giving you positive feedback you know it is genuine!"
