1. What if our submission is more than 1000 words?

   The judges are only obliged to look at the first 1000 words of the entry. However, this word limit is to act as guidance only.

2. Does my entry have to fulfil all of the awards criteria?

   The highlighted criteria are weighted more heavily. However, it is not necessary for the entry to meet all of the specified criteria, as they are designed to act only as guidance. However entries run the risk of being marked down if not all criteria are covered on the entry submission.

3. Can I enter more than one application per award?

   Yes. More than one application per award can be made by the same company; however, the entries must be distinctly different.

4. In which formats will submissions be accepted?

   All entries must be submitted in electronic format, whether by email to awards@ciht.org.uk or by post on a CD-Rom.

5. Can supplementary videos and information be submitted?

   Yes. However, extra information will only be viewed at the judge’s discretion and must therefore not be central to your application.

6. How many different award categories can I enter?

   Each company or team are entitled to enter as many different award categories as they feel applicable. The same project can only be entered in two different awards.

7. Can I enter a submission if my company is sponsoring the award?

   No. However projects which were created by a joint venture will be accepted providing the sponsor is not the lead company.

8. What is the closing date for the submission?

   The closing date for award submissions will be 24 February 2012. No entries will be accepted after this date. We would advise you to submit entries before the deadline.

9. When will I find out if my submission has been successful?

   All applicants will be contacted in mid April 2012, to be informed if their entry has been successful. Short listed entries will then be announced in Transportation Professional. The winning applications will be announced at the awards dinner, June 2012. 

10. Will I be able to receive feedback on my entry if it fails to be shortlisted?

    Due to the form of the judging process and the number of entries received it is not possible to offer feedback on individual submissions.
