The CIHT / Gatwick Airport Major Projects Award

This award is aimed at projects with a total project value greater than £15M that are outstanding examples of transportation or highway projects that demonstrate they have been delivered on time, to budget and contribute to the mobility of the local or national community.

Entries to the CIHT Awards are now closed.

Judging will commence shortly after this date and then shortlisted entries will be notified.



All criteria marked with an asterix (*) are allocated heavier weighting than other categories.

Judging Criteria for the award:

  • Benefits to the community and to the environment (for example: energy savings, level of recycling, percentage of sustainable resource or materials used)*
  • Implementation and delivery of (management, operation, communications, training & safety)*
  • Consultation with Stakeholders
  • Planning and Design (robustness of research and partnership working)
  • Sustainable Procurement
  • Enterprise and ingenuity
  • Quality of Construction i.e. cost effective, practical and sustainable (if a construction stage is applicable)
  • Objectives met
