CIHT, in collaboration with key stakeholders, are producing guidelines on securing effective integration of planning and transport to meet the needs of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and the delivery of sustainable developments. The guide will look at the actions that need to be taken by all parties to secure better planning for developments and transport that meets the needs of people and addresses the environmental, health, social, inclusivity and economic imperatives.

The document is aimed at those involved in developing and planning new places and homes including planners, developers, transport authorities, policy officials and other sector practitioners.

To help deliver this, a steering group has been set up with Lynda Addison, Chair of the CIHT Sustainable Transport Panel, as lead guidelines editor.  The steering group will hold a stakeholder event on Wednesday18 April 2018 between 10.30am and 13.30pm at The Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation, 119 Britannia Walk, London N1 7JE. The event is by invitation and will provide an early opportunity for the broad range of stakeholders to input into the guideline and share their views and thinking.
