Region: West Midlands

Birmingham Cycle Revolution (BCR) is an ambitious plan to make cycling a mainstream form of transport across the city, being a key element of the City Council’s ‘Birmingham Connected’ transport strategy. The strategy has an ambitious target to increase the proportion of cycle trips from the current level of 3%, to 5% by 2023 and 10% by 2033, through the development of a high quality city wide cycle network.

Andy Middleton, Birmingham Cycle Revolution Programme Manager, will explain the background to the £57m BCR programme, its aims and objectives, as well as providing details of some of the schemes which have already been implemented. Andy will also discuss the lessons learnt from delivering the programme to date and how these have shaped the forward BCR programme. This includes ambitious plans to deliver Birmingham’s first two fully segregated cycle highways.

This is a free event open to all (members and non-members).
