The CIHT West Midlands Awards & Dinner will return in 2018 on Thursday 3rd May at the Macdonald Burlington hotel in Birmingham, this year supported by Highways England. The event recognises the excellent achievements of those working in highways and transportation in the West Midlands and is set to be bigger than ever before with award winning entertainment and new awards categories.
Tickets go on sale at 10.00am on Friday 26th January and the awards will open for entries at the same time for those that want to promote themselves and their work as best practice to a wide audience.
Book your place here! Tickets are £65, the dress code is black tie and the evening kicks off at 7.30pm with guests to arrive at 6.45pm. Get involved on social media with the hashtag #CIHTWMAwards.
The following categories are open for submissions. Entries close on 23 March 2018. If you wish to enter, please read the information below together with the submission information and complete an application form. Good luck!

Individual projects that are outstanding examples of transportation or highway projects, demonstrating they have been delivered on time, to budget and made a major contribution to the West Midlands.

Best Large Project Information
Individual projects that are outstanding examples of transportation or highway projects, demonstrating they have been delivered on time, to budget and made a major contribution locally.
Best Small Project Information
Individuals with less than 10 years’ experience having made a valuable contribution to highways or transportation in the West Midlands and establishing themselves as a positive role model for the industry.
Recognising and encouraging innovative problem solving within the highways and transportation industry in the West Midlands.
Recognising the best academic papers produced in the West Midlands with the potential to make a significant contribution toward highways or transportation research.
Academic Paper Information
‘Matthew the Magician’ has been confirmed as the entertainment for the night. Matthew teaches at the Magic Circle and is the winner of the highest UK award for close-up magic with many TV appearances and performances at some high profile events such as the launch of the new Porsche Boxter and the Anniversary of The Emirates show in Abu Dhabi for a crowd of over 20,000 people.
