Cllr Feryal Dermirci

Cllr Feryal Demirci, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Transport and Parks, London Borough of Hackney. Cllr Feryal Demirci has been a Labour Councillor in the London Borough of Hackney since 2006 and a member of Cabinet since 2010.  In this role Cllr Demirci covers a wide range of issues including waste management, recycling, streetscene and highway infrastructure, parking, traffic management as well as overseeing Hackney’s much loved parks and green spaces. Cllr Demirci has overseen Hackney’s transition to London’s best cycling borough and is London Councils’ cycling champion. 

Cllr Demirci is also proud to have enabled Hackney to become the first London borough to introduce Play Streets.  As Vice-Chair of London Councils Transport and Environment committee, Cllr Demirci has also taken a lead on raising the profile of air quality and pollution in London.
