Eastham Bridge Project: Replacement after its dramatic collapse
 
On 24 May 2016, the Grade II listed Eastham stone arch bridge collapsed into the River Teme near Tenbury Wells. This talk will explore the investigations into the reason for collapse, and the story of the project to replace the structure including the environmental, planning and engineering challenges that were overcome.
 
The event will be illustrated with slides and videos from various stages of the project.
 
Speaker: Jon Fraser – Highways Manager, Worcestershire County Council
Jon Fraser has over 30 years' experience working in Highways and Transportation for Local Government in England. He has previously held roles such as Head of Highway Engineering for Bromsgrove District Council. 
 
Joining Worcestershire County Council in 1986, he has held various positions including Highways Partnership Manager and in 2004 he became the county's first Traffic and Network Control Manager. He currently works closely with elected members and MP's with all aspects of Highways and Transportation in Worcestershire and is the 'front face' for the County Council. 
 
An experienced speaker, Jon has presented papers at conferences in Ireland, Italy and Germany.
 
The event is open to members and non-members. Refreshments will be provided.
