Severe Weather Challenge – Keeping the Strategic Network Operational
Highways England deal with a huge and varied set of challenges each year to try and keep the motorway and key trunk network free from incidents and events that might prevent the economy, commuter and private travel in England from operating to its capacity. The biggest challenge is actually weather and especially severe (winter) weather.
Ever wondered just how much planning, monitoring and particularly the use of technology Highways England use to keep the network safe and trouble free?
Come and look at a Salt Spreader close up, and for the really adventurous the chance to get into the drivers cab to experience the view that our driver’s sees on their travels whilst spreading salt on the Midlands Motorway network
Date: Monday 6th November 2017
