The World Road Association (WRA) provides a forum for the exchange of international best practice. It is important that we contribute to this exchange and learn from it. The talk will focus on the work of WRA UK, highlighting what is new in the world of highways and how you can stay in regular touch with world best practice in your area of specialism.

Joe Burns is Chairman of WRA UK and Strategy Director for Mouchel Highways and Transportation. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the highway sector in client, contractor, and consultant roles in the UK and various countries around the world. He has been active within the WRA (formerly PIARC) for nearly 20 years and represents the UK on the WRA Council. He developed the MAC contracts and the early thinking on ECI for the HA and retains his keen interest in procurement strategies and processes through active membership of the CIHT Procurement and Delivery Panel, and more recently involvement with HMEP.
