The Institution of Highway & Transportation

Midland Branch - Young Engineers Competition

20 September 2010 | Branch: Midland

This is an opportunity for those with a story to tell – although unfortunately for older members there is an upper age limit of 35. For those who meet the age criterion, the Midland Branch of CIHT invite both members and non-members to put themselves forward to give a short (10 minute) presentation on any Highways or Transportation subject. This could be an interesting design, a construction experience, a piece of research or simply a talk on a subject that interests you (e.g. canal renovation, the pros and cons of trams, the history of cats eyes etc. etc. etc.). It will be a chance to practice your presentation skills in a friendly low-pressure environment, with the further incentive of a £75 prize for the best on the night and the opportunity to go forward to the Colas-sponsored national final.

For those over 35, come and be impressed!

If you would like to enter, please inform our branch secretary Yue Huang. A computer + digital projector will be available; also whiteboards. However, you can use whatever presentation technique you wish. Only the first 6 entrants will be accepted on this occasion; however, there will be further opportunities in the future.
