Locan Cup

Enville Golf ClubThe CIHT annual national golf competition, the Locan Cup, is hosted by a different Region each year. The 2017 competition, was hosted by CIHT East Midlands and held at Woodhall Spa Golf Club in Lincolnshire on 10th and 11th September.  Read about the day here.

The Cup was given to the Institution by Charles Locan in 1947 following a proposal by Sir James Drake, the then County Surveyor and Bridgemaster of Lancashire, that Institution members should play golf for a prestigious prize Cup. The competition is open to Institution Regions represented by Teams of 4 Pairs with the best 3 Pairs scores to count.

The competition has been held at prestigious venues that have extended from Enville Golf Club in South Staffordshire, to St Mellion in Cornwall (a Jack Nichlaus designed course that has been used for International Professional events), to Nairn Golf Club in the North of Scotland (Walker & Curtis Cup Events), and from Royal Portrush  in Northern Ireland to Royal St Davids in North Wales.
