Young Professional Award 2011

Criteria
The criterion for the award is simply that it is made “to a young person less than 35 years of age who is considered to have provided a significant active role within the Branch by their contribution to an interesting or notable project.”  The aim of the Award is to celebrate individual excellence in Transport Planning and/or Civil Engineering within the highways and transportation field.
 
Eligibility
Those under 35 are invited to submit nominations. The Branch Awards Sub-Committee will then consider all the nominations and determine which nomination to support for the Young Professional Branch Award.
 
Entries & Submissions
The nomination should take the form of a 1000-word submission by the member stating details of an interesting project they have worked on. The submission should be made electronically by the 2nd September 2011 and the winner will be agreed at the next meeting of the Branch Award sub-committee. Prizes
The winners will be announced at the Yorkshire & Humberside Branch Dinner Dance in October at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate. The winning entries announced on the night will be awarded a certificate and perpetual sculpture of John Smeaton.  Winners of the Awards will have details published in a subsequent issue of Transportation Professional
