One week left until highways show
Highways sector professionals and stakeholders are set to gather in Birmingham next week for the annual Highways UK show which provides a range of networking and learning opportunities.
CIHT will once again have a strong presence at the event where the Institution is curating an extensive programme of seminar sessions aimed at sharing good practice.
Key topics for these sessions, which will feature insight from companies recognised by this year’s CIHT Awards, include transport’s contribution to society as well as resilience, accessibility and professional development.
In addition to the CIHT seminars will be an array of other industry briefing sessions. The event also offers the chance to hear from some of the industry’s most senior figures at the main conference, and there are two new dedicated conferences being launched for this year.
The first of these is known as Safer Highways UK, and will tackle the subject of road worker and road user safety. Sessions are designed to give employers solutions to issues around workforce engagement, breaking down barriers to cultural change, legal compliance and dealing with stigmas surrounding mental health in the workplace.
Also new for this year is the Highways People dedicated conference which places a focus on skills, providing insights into recruitment best practice and opportunities to explore the business case for investing in talent.
Highways UK takes place from 8-9 November at Birmingham’s NEC venue. Registration to attend is free. For more information visit
