Fellow (FCIHT) is the highest class of membership of the Institution and is conferred on people working in transportation with proven ability and who have made a significant contribution to the profession.

As a senior member of the profession, a candidate would normally be making
a major contribution to Institution affairs and have reached a pinnacle of career distinction within the field of transportation. FCIHT is recognised in the industry as a highly respected symbol of excellence.

Apply to become a Fellow if you:

  • hold a degree or a professional qualification or full certificated Level 5 NVQ/SVQ; hold and have held an important position of independent responsibility in links with transportation for two years, and can demonstrate significant experience or
  • hold and have held an important position of independent responsibility in connection with transportation for at least five years, and can demonstrate significant experience or
  • head a large national or multi-national highways and/or transportation company or government department that has a direct influence on transportation policy
