Call for Papers and Prizes

Call for Papers and Prizes now open - deadline 31st September 2010

PIARC is calling for individual contributions on selected topics in order to enrich and broaden the views and work of the PIARC Technical
Committees.
 

Papers will be reviewed by the Technical Committees.  Papers that are accepted will be published in the Congress proceedings, and will provide input into the Congress sessions. All authors of accepted papers will have the opportunity to present their paper at poster sessions. Some outstanding contributions will be selected for an oral presentation during the Congress.


Information for prospective authors

Content. All papers must be original work available to be released for publication. Material that has been previously published will not be accepted. Any reference of a political, commercial or advertising nature must be excluded from the papers. The indication of a brand name should be excluded in the title and in the abstract.
Languages. Abstracts should be submitted in one of the official languages of the Association, i.e. English or French and preferably in both languages.

Length. The abstract should not exceed 400 words.  Note:  references prior to 2010 are to the Essay CompetitionWinning Essay 2007
The judges of the WRA-UK Competition 2007 are pleased to announce that the winners entry was from a team from TRL, the essay entitled “An Intelligent Journey to the Olympic Games 2012". The essay has been submitted as the UK entry for the International Competition.

Winning Essay 2003

The 2003 PIARC prize for young professionals was won by Dr Bryan Magee, Victoria Moreland, Matt Wilson and James Quick of TRL Ltd, with their essay '2030 A Transport Odyssey'.  Dr Bryan Magee, Victoria Moreland, Matt Wilson and James Quick were awarded their prize at the World Road Congress in Durban, South Africa, October 2003.
