Dr John Miles has over 40 years experience in transport planning, transport research and government policy development in the UK and Europe. He is the immediate past chair (2004 to 2008) of the PIARC Technical Committee on Road Network Operations and lead editor of the PIARC Handbook on Intelligent Transport Systems, now in its 2nd Edition and published in English, French, Spanish and Chinese.

Martin has over 25 years of experience in the field of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) and is currently Executive Vice President at Egis Mobilité. He is responsible for the strategic policy and development of the company, particularly concerning key technologies and applications for ITS. Since 1989, he has been involved in Transport Telematics projects, and has played a leading role in several projects for the European Commission.
