Prior to gaining his BEng with Distinction in Civil Engineering in 1990 and his Chartership in 1996, Roy was a technician with Fife Council. More recently, in his role as Director-General, he provided leadership to the arrangements for Operation Unicorn, bringing together all of the delivery partners to ensure that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was given a fitting tribute on her last journey from Scotland.
