2009 North Western Branch AGM - 30 April

Dear Member,

I write to inform you that the Annual General Meeting of the North Western Branch will take place on Thursday, 30th April 2009 at:

Salford M6 5EJ

The meeting will commence at 5.00pm with refreshments available from 4.30pm.  After the meeting we have arranged for a presentation to be given by Ruth Moynihan, the Highways Agency’s Regional Planning Manager for the north west.  Her presentation is entitled ‘Predict and Provide, or Predict and Manage’ and will address the HA’s initiatives and developments for the future management of traffic on the strategic network both regionally and nationally.

I am keen to expand the membership of the Branch Committee and would be happy to hear from any member interested in serving as a full or co-opted member.  My contact details are shown below.

I would also like to bring to your attention an event which the Branch is promoting later in the year.  On 14th may 2009 a Seminar will be held at the Ramada Hotel, Bolton, the topic of which will be ‘Road Safety Audit Guidelines 2008 (a Route to Proactive Casualty Reduction)’.  The Seminar will provide an opportunity to hear from those involved in the writing of the new guidelines, and from experienced practitioners.  It will also provide an opportunity to learn about cutting-edge developments in this field.
