In June 2019 the British government made a legal commitment to end the UK’s contribution to global greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This means that the challenge for the transportation sector is now to try to eliminate emissions and not simply reduce them.
In Autumn 2021, in advance of the United Nations COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, CIHT will publish its Route to Net Zero setting out how we will work with our partners to support transportation professionals meet this challenge..
This work is being overseen by an expert Advisory Group, chaired by ex Vice Chair of the Committee for Climate Change, Baroness Brown of Cambridge.
CIHT will be consulting with members and stakeholders during Spring and Summer 2021, further details will be available shortly. In the meantime you can take part in the conversation on CIHT Connect or contact CIHT Climate Change Associate Andrew Crudgington
