If you are registered at CEng, IEng or EngTech level through another professional engineering institution licensed by the Engineering Council, you can apply to transfer your registration to CIHT so that you pay your annual Engineering Council registration fee through CIHT in future.
If you are considering resigning your membership of the professional engineering institution through which you are registered with the Engineering Council and would like to transfer your professional registration to CIHT, please refer to Sections A and B below. We recommend that you do not resign your membership of your current institution until you have received confirmation from CIHT that your application to transfer your registration has been successful.
If you have only recently paid the current annual registration fee through the institution through which you currently hold registration, you may wish to apply for Additional Membership (see below) until your next registration fee is due and apply to transfer your registration to CIHT at that point.
If you intend to continue paying your registration fees through the current institution through which you hold registration but would like to be professionally registered through CIHT as well, you may wish to consider applying for Additional Membership. This requires you to provide evidence of equivalent competence in a highways and transportation context and demonstrate your commitment to the development and enhancement of transport and infrastructure. Please refer to the Additional Membership Application Form for further details.
