On Thursday 19th March 2015 the West Midlands Branch became CIHT West Midlands. The region covers the areas of Staffordshire, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, Stoke-on-Trent, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and West Midlands. At the heart of the country with a rich industrial heritage, we have boundaries with six CIHT Regions. CIHT West Midlands has over 1000 members. The region attracts a lot of support for the regional committee and is well represented on CIHT’s Council and very involved with the work of the Council’s Boards.
As Chair of the CIHT West Midlands region, I wanted to send a message to all local Highways & Transport professionals to encourage you to maintain and use your association with CIHT to help you through the difficult time that we are all experiencing at the moment. Whether you are working from home or currently furloughed, it’s really important that you stay connected and keep up to speed with what’s going on in the sector and your local area so that you can carry on with your career development post-Covid 19.
You may have noticed that CIHT is offering more CPD webinars which will keep you informed and support your professional development. We are providing regular updates on the state of the sector and up the minute news on our website which is transport specific.
For those who have yet to re-new their membership this year, I understand that paying your membership subscription may not be a priority, or may be financially difficult right now, but CIHT is committed to supporting everyone in the sector through this time. How? Firstly, by waiving the reinstatement fee and secondly by having conversations with members about payment options and taking advantage of the concessionary subscription rate. The membership team (email@example.com) would be pleased to hear from you.
Remember, CIHT is your membership body and it is here to help you.
The region AGM is typically held on the same evening as the Annual Dinner in the spring each year. There are normally committee meetings every few months throughout the year. The majority of meetings are typically held in Birmingham at Corporate Partners offices. Are you interested in joining our committee? We are seeking to fill vacant committee posts.
