Front of Office Receptionist / Meeting Room coordinator

Old Street, London, N1
Salary = £17,600 pa (Working Mon – Thursday each week / 28 Hours)

CIHT, representing over 14,000 practitioners across the Highways & Transportation profession, is seeking an experienced office administrator to help run a busy front office and meeting facilities. You will be the first point of contact for visitors to the Institution, organise and run all reception services, manage booking records and provide a customer friendly support service for internal and external customers using our meeting rooms. This will include processing orders (i.e. from enquiry to billing), and proactive marketing of our meeting rooms to new clients.

With a commitment to delivery and excellent customer service, you will have the energy and drive to ensure that this busy area of the Institution’s work runs smoothly and efficiently.

You will need to be well presented, have a strong customer focus, be adaptable and flexible to change your attendance hours to suit our business needs. You will also need to be able to use Excel to produce statistics and reports to aid management reporting on meeting room usage. Previous experience of working in a hospitality environment (e.g. hotels, restaurants, meeting rooms) would be advantageous but not essential.

We are looking for a person to undertake this role working four days per week (Monday to Friday). We are seeking to appoint a person that can start in the role from start of 2019. A copy of the job description is available here.

Professional Development Officer

Salary - £34k per annum, plus benefits
35 hour week

CIHT is a registered charity and thriving membership organisation, based near Old Street Station in London. We represent 14,000 individual members and over 100 organisations in the highways and transportation sector. We have 12 regions in the UK and a number of international groups.

We are seeking to appoint to a Professional Development Officer to lead on developing, administering and promoting our new Professional Development Framework and our CPD processes for accreditation and review, as well as ensuring compliance with the Institute for Apprenticeships’ requirements for End Point Assessment (EPA) organisations and EPA delivery. The successful candidate will be part of the Education Team and will report to the Education & Training Manager.

To fulfil the requirements of this role, you will need excellent organisation, administrative, and interpersonal skills as well as practical experience of working in a learning and development environment. You must have a positive attitude and be able to work constructively and productively as part of a busy team. An understanding of data protection and handling confidential data appropriately is also required.
