Membership Assistant

Salary - £22k plus benefits
35 hour week

CIHT is a registered charity and membership organisation, based near Old Street Station in London. We represent a thriving, increasingly diverse, membership of circa 14,000 professionals who build, maintain, operate, design and plan transport infrastructure.

This is a key role in the busy membership team, so the postholder needs to be efficient, IT literate and have a flexible approach to work, responding to changing priorities and working collaboratively with others.

The main responsibilities of the role are to input and maintain members’ data, to assist in processing applications for membership, organising membership recruitment and retention activities in tandem with other members of staff and to respond to queries from members and prospective members. The role has specific responsibilities in terms of member grade, including students, apprentices and graduates.

The postholder will need to attend membership events to promote CIHT membership, and occasional travel may be required.

The role requires excellent organisational and customer service skills, an understanding of handling confidential data appropriately, and the ability to work constructively and productively as part of a team. Good spoken and written English is necessary.

Proficient IT skills, including using databases to produce reports and statistics as well as data inputting experience is essential.
