The Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) is a charity, learned society, membership body and leading voice for those who work in the transport and infrastructure sector. The Institution has championed EDI in the sector for over 10 years and is seeking to use its position of influence to push for a concerted effort to achieve significant culture change. To the end, we have introduced a new role of EDI Manager to help us drive the EDI agenda forward, both internally and externally.
As our EDI Manager, you will be responsible for delivering CIHT’s EDI strategy, ensuring current best practice is followed at all times. You will work closely with the CEO, the Membership & Member Services Board, the EDI Panel, CIHT members, staff and other stakeholders to implement our 5-year action plan, measuring and reporting regularly on progress on the key objectives, milestones and corporate targets.
To be a success in this exciting position, you must be an EDI expert with a proven track record of successfully implementing EDI strategies. You must be persuasive, adaptable and confident, with the ability to build relationships with individuals and organisations across the sector. You will work closely with the CIHT communications team and other CIHT staff to ensure everyone is engaged with the strategy. You must be proficient at report writing and presenting qualitative and quantitative data to a range of audiences.
Experience of working in a membership organisation would be beneficial but is not essential.

CIHT is a membership organisation representing over 14,000 people who work in the highways and transportation sector.
CIHT are looking to appoint a dynamic digital communications assistant to maximise the opportunities to enhance the reputation and profile of the Institution. Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible to effectively communicate the Institution’s messages to all its stakeholders and members through a variety of channels.
You will have experience of working in a fast-paced office role and be able to produce engaging copy and marketing materials for different audiences and channels both on and offline.
This is a great opportunity for a passionate communicator with an ability to work quickly and flexibly to help shape and deliver CIHT’s communication activity. The role calls for a highly motivated individual with; strong organisational skills and who is an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, can work under pressure, balancing a variety of demands on their time. The role requires someone with energy, enthusiasm and good knowledge of and passion for social media and digital channels.
