In 2015 CIHT’s 18 UK Branches were restructured to 12 Regions & Nations to match the boundaries of the Devolved Nations and the English Regions. On Monday 20th April 2015 the Northern Ireland Branch became CIHT Northern Ireland. CIHT Northern Ireland is highly active. Four technical meetings are held between November and March each year in Belfast including joint meetings with the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Logistics and Transportation.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the CIHT Northern Ireland committee will hold its Annual General Meeting at 18:15 on Monday 30 May 2022.
The AGM offers us an opportunity to reflect on the past year and look forward to the next. The AGM will be held virtually. Details of how to book your place will be announced soon.
Please read the full AGM early notice.
Ahead of the upcoming AGM, the CIHT Northern Ireland committee is recruiting and we are looking for new members who want to join us in promoting the excellence that exists in highways and transportation.
There are lots of benefits of getting involved; CIHT’s regions and nations play a critical role for the Institution, acting as a focal point for members to meet and share their experiences locally. The regions and nations organise an annual programme of activities, which include CPD opportunities, seminars, site visits and social events.
To put yourself forward for a role, please complete the Nomination Form below:
Formal applications should be made by email to:
by 4pm on Monday 16th May 2022. Applications should be supported by four regional members and signed by you the candidate to show you are willing to stand.
The Northern Ireland committee held their 2021 Annual General Meeting on 10th May 2021.
Whilst all vacancies are currently filled on the committee for the 2021-22 year, we are always happy to hear from new members and if you would like to get in touch with the committee, please contact us at: email@example.com
In addition to our technical events a lunchtime meeting is held in the West or North of the Province. This usually takes the form of a lecture followed by a lunch. Technical seminars are also held biennially with the co-operation of the local universities and other professional institutions.
The Region has a Social Evening each year to which members, guests and partners are invited. The Annual Dinner is held in March with over 300 sitting down to celebrate the year's achievements. The Dinner is the highlight of the year and many 'movers and shakers' in the local transportation scene attend.
We have an active golfing group and the winners of the Harold Scott trophy represent the Region each year in the Locan Cup. The Region has won the Cup on numerous occasions!
