CIHT West Midlands are pleased to announce a presentation given by Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd on the A4440 Worcester Southern Link Road Improvements, a major dual carriageway upgrade in Worcestershire.
This presentation will cover the award-winning Battenhall Railway Bridge widening scheme and the challenges encountered in the dual carriageway improvements completed so far between Whittington and Ketch Roundabouts.
It will also look at the future improvements which involve the construction of a new bridge, additional carriageway and associative highway infrastructure across the River Severn Flood Plain between Ketch and Powick Roundabouts.

The speakers have had hands-on involvement in this project; part of it is already complete, open and successfully running, for which the new railway bridge has won a number of awards. They have previously delivered a talk on this part of the project however the new presentation will talk about the next stage which involves crossing a flood plain for the River Severn and the River Teme (a tributary) and what challenges have been encountered, as well as talking about issues surrounding the first stage of the project which were not covered in the previous presentation.
