This online seminar, presented jointly by CIHT Dubai and the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport UAE, will focus on the principles and practice of Access and Inclusion in Public Transport Interchanges.
With new urban and long-distance public transport systems being planned across the United Arab Emirates, there is increasing interest in the planning and design of public transport interchanges and how to make them efficient, accessible, inclusive, sustainable and supportive of a high quality and attractive customer experience.
The seminar will include in-depth knowledge about embedding accessibility principles in public transport projects at all stages of planning and design, drawing on the importance of good place-making in new station facilities, as well as retrofitting improvements into existing infrastructure.
The Seminar will cover the softer, but vital, issues of customer service, equality training, and ensuring that the door-to-door experience is strengthened by the way passengers are looked after in the interchange environment. It will introduce the various approaches to station travel planning, and how transport hubs can work sensitively and inclusively within their wider surroundings.
