CIHT Scotland is delighted to host this webinar with the City of Edinburgh Council, which will focus on Edinburgh’s City Centre West-East Link (CCWEL) which is transforming active travel infrastructure in Scotland’s capital city.
Edinburgh’s City Centre West-East Link (CCWEL) is transforming active travel infrastructure in Scotland’s capital city. Construction began on the £19m scheme in February 2022 and, upon completion, CCWEL will connect Roseburn in the west to Leith Walk in the east with a largely protected cycle way.
Alongside the construction of segregated cycle ways and more cycle parking, cyclists and pedestrians will be given priority at new and improved junctions along the route.
Upgrades will also be made to public realm, with dedicated placemaking improvements at Roseburn, Haymarket and Randolph Place.
In this Webinar, you will hear from one of the Council officers responsible for delivering CCWEL who will provide an overview of the scheme; explain the challenges they faced; and how the scheme will contribute to transforming travel in Edinburgh.
This webinar is open to anyone with an intertest in highways and transportation. It is particularly aimed at Transport Planners, Civil/Highways Engineers and urban planners with an interest in active travel infrastructure.
