Alice Holt Forest Family Cycle Ride
Join us for a family friendly cycle ride
Date: Saturday 10th August Time: 2pm (meet by the Cycle Hire Shop)
Venue: Alice Holt Forest, Bucks Horn Oak, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 4LS
The CIHT Southern Branch is organising an afternoon bike ride within the beautiful traffic-free environment of Alice Holt Forest (
http://www.forestry.gov.uk/aliceholt) for members, family and friends.
The 5 kilometre / 3 mile family cycle trail is suitable for both adults and children and provides an excellent opportunity for exploring the forest, comprising a relatively easy ride around the woods with some steep hills.
Admission to Alice Holt Forest is free, however pay and display parking charges apply (£2.50 up to 2 hours / £4 up to 3 hours / £5 up to 4 hours and £7 over 4 hours).
Bicycles can be hired from the on-site Cycle Hire Shop (Quench Cycles:
http://www.quenchuk.co.uk/bike_hire.html / 01420 520355). If required, it is recommended that you arrange this in advance to avoid disappointment.
For those wishing to extend the day, Alice Holt offers a variety of waymarked trails, a children’s playground, Go Ape (charges apply / pre-booking advised), picnic areas and a cafe, or for the more hardy cyclist
http://www3.hants.gov.uk/aliceholt-2.pdf this is an undulating but very picturesque 10 kilometre / 6.5 mile cycle route from Lindford to Alice Holt.
I would be grateful if you could register your interest so I have an idea of how many people to expect.
