This webinar, hosted by CIHT Scotland, will provide an overview of the NEC3 suite of contract with emphasis on the Engineering and Construction Contract. It will cover the history of the contract and its use in Industry, the ECC Contract Structure, Main and Secondary Options, Contract roles and a selection of key core clauses.
This webinar is aimed at those with limited knowledge or experience of the NEC3 ECC Contract and could be used as part of an attendee’s initial professional development. It would also be relevant to those who are looking for a brief introduction to the Contract and how it operates.
Ross Speirs, Service Manager (Structural Services), Fife Council
Ross is a Chartered Civil Engineer and an Accredited NEC3 ECC Project Manager. He is a Fellow of the CIHT and the ICE and past Chair of CIHT Scotland. Ross has over 30 years within the industry, spanning both Local Authority and consultancy throughout the UK. Ross leads the Structural Services for Fife Council, with a remit covering c£600m assets, including Bridges, specialist Structures, Flood Defence Schemes as well as harbours, piers and a 180km coastline.
Conor McCarthy, Associate, WSP
Conor is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Project Professional and Accredited NEC3/4 ECC Project Manager with over 17 years’ experience in Civil Engineering. His career to date has spanned local government development projects to major highways infrastructure projects across the UK, Ireland and Australia.
Early career roles revolved around highways and drainage design, and hydraulic modelling work combined with site management and construction supervision. For the past 7 years, he has led several NEC3/4 projects across a wide variety of multidisciplinary projects and programmes.
