Led by CIHT South East, this webinar will look at concrete roads testing. The webinar will include a live Q&A with the speakers.
Legacy concrete roads account for approximately 4% of Highways England’s road network, with the majority constructed during the 1960’s and 70’s. These roads have exceeded their intended design life and present a significant maintenance and asset management challenge to Highways England. Mott Macdonald Sweco JV have investigated several key areas to enhance concrete road management and ensure their potential and inherit value is realised, including:
This presentation will provide an overview on each of the above items.
This event will be of particular interest to pavement engineers, those involved in asset maintenance (including those outside of pavements), and local councils and private road asset owner/operators.
Tyler is a Chartered Civil Engineer and member of the Institute of Engineers Australia, with six years’ industry experience across design, construction supervision, and project management roles.
In 2020, Tyler relocated from Australia to England to join Mott MacDonald and has been heavily involved in concrete roads innovations projects including the development of precast concrete pavement systems, supporting the development of machine learning software, developing trials to investigate concrete maturity relationships as well as remote sensing technologies, and providing pavement support across concrete roads renewal schemes and the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet Improvements project.
Phil is a Graduate Civil Engineer who was educated in Spain and graduated from a master’s degree at Cardiff University in 2020.
Phil joined Mott MacDonald in August 2020 and since then has been very involved with the concrete roads innovations projects, taking a lead on the development of the machine learning and K-Mobile digital capture system and supporting other schemes across the concrete roads programme.
Whilst at university, Phil completed a site placement year with a concrete repairs contractor, helping manage and oversee smaller projects, as well as large multi-disciplinary projects.
Eden is a Graduate Civil Engineer who has been involved in various aspects of concrete roads’ innovations projects since he joined Mott MacDonald in 2019, including product trials, repair monitoring, supporting the development of ‘end-to-end digital’ software and assisting in the production of films.
