Following the successes of the Branch Awards Dinners it has been decided that we will repeat the format and present awards at the 2015 Dinner to projects, products or initiatives of particular merit.
I believe that within this region there are many transportation-related projects, either under construction or in the planning stages, which are not only prestigious in themselves but which also incorporate innovative techniques to enhance sustainability and safety.
Awards will be presented in four categories in 2015:
• Transportation Project of the Year
• Environmental/Sustainability Project of the Year
• Safety Project of the Year
• Best Practice Award (this could be related to training, health and safety or any other relevant initiative).
• In addition to these there may be a Branch Chairman’s Award.
I am now writing to ask you to submit any projects which you consider to be of sufficient merit to be considered for the Branch Awards.
Submissions should comprise a summary of the project, illustrated where possible, and should highlight any particular feature that makes it stand out.
A copy of the Guidelines for the Submission of Entries is available below and can also be found on the Alder Cross web-site (www.aldercross.com).
Submissions should be made by 10th April 2015, later than that advised in earlier correspondence.
Submissions will be judged independently, and a shortlist chosen before the winners of the Awards are announced at the Branch Dinner. The Branch Dinner will take place:
Date: Friday 8th May 2015.
Venue: Park Royal Hotel, Stretton, Warrington
The shortlist will be published later in April and all entrants will be notified of the outcome of the judging.
Please note that the date of the Dinner has changed from that previously notified.
I look forward to your support for the awards initiative and hope that you will be able to present submissions for consideration. If you do not have a suitable project for an award then I hope that you will be able to join us for what promises to be, once again, an excellent event celebrating transportation in the North West.
The guest speaker for 2015 will be Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards.
If you should require any further information then please do not hesitate to contact me.
