Join CIHT's Professional Development Officer, John Hall, STEM Learnings Business Engagement Officer, Yasmin Khan and CIHT STEM ambassador, Gracie Belwood (SYSTRA), to learn about the benefits of being a STEM ambassador at all career stages. You will learn how to enroll as a STEM ambassador, the many benefits of being an ambassador and how it can support your career, and how to best use the STEM Learning platform to find opportunities, align yourselves to CIHT and log your STEM activities and hours.
CIHT's Professional Development Officer, John Hall, will be joined by a CIHT Member STEM ambassador, Gracie Belwood, who will offer some best practice advice and tips on how being a STEM ambassador can benefit your career, and explain how being a STEM ambassador has enhanced her professional career.
STEM Learnings Business Engagement Officer, Yasmin Khan, is also a guest on the webinar and will demonstrate their digital platform to help you find STEM opportunities where you can get involved, how to log your STEM activity and hours and how to align yourself to CIHT so we can support you better.
The webinar is free for members to attend and will consist of a 50 minute presentation, which is followed by 10 minutes of viewer led Q&A.
John has held positions in the Education and Professional Development departments at two Professional Engineering Institutions.
He has supported STEM Ambassador and CPD programs for both. John comes to this webinar with many years experience supporting volunteer STEM ambassadors to undertake activities within schools and support their career development.
John has created and digitized STEM activities and continues to work closely with STEM Learning and other partners to find new new ways to support ambassadors.
Gracie is a CIHT Associate Member and a STEM ambassador.
Gracie supported Child Friendly Leeds and the CIHT Yorkshire & the Humber region to coordinate an initiative to understand how transportation professionals can design better streets and places for children. Gracie delivered STEM sessions that were instrumental in gathering vital information from Childrens perspectives.
Gracie chose to become a CIHT STEM ambassador to share her positive experiences of working in the sector and of completing the transport planning technician apprenticeship.
She is passionate about highlighting the many benefits of apprenticeships and STEM subjects to others and how they have helped her career.
Yasmin has been with STEM Learning for nearly two years, strengthening business connections and supporting employers to enrich and broaden STEM Learnings outreach programs.
Yasmin has supported CIHT and our amazing STEM ambassadors to both enroll as ambassadors and become more involved in rewarding initiatives so they can share their knowledge, experiences and skills with schools and communities across the UK.
Yasmin will give a presentation on how to sign up to be a STEM ambassador and make the best out of the STEM Learning platform.
CPD is defined as any activity that provides new knowledge or skills that help you to achieve your professional development goals or has otherwise helped you to develop as a highways and transportation professional.
