Join CIHT South East and SoRSA as we explore how transport planning and road safety can help tackle transport inequality, improve accessibility and create safer journeys for everyone. This in-person event will examine who may be overlooked in decision-making, barriers to accessing jobs and services, and how practitioners can better consider the needs of different users.
Transport inequality remains a significant challenge across the UK, affecting people's ability to access employment, education, healthcare and social opportunities. Whilst transport schemes are often designed to improve connectivity and safety, several groups continue to face barriers due to factors such as disability, age, income, location, and access to private vehicles. There is growing recognition that transport planning, development, and road safety processes must better understand and respond to the needs of diverse users.
