BIM is currently developing in the building sector and as the government’s mandatory requirements for inclusion within tender with public sector scheme, this is likely to progresses in to Infrastructure. If this happens, what do we believe the future of Highway Engineering will look like? 
 
This  breakfast  briefing  brings  together  one  of the   market   leading   software   developers   to advise    the    current    position    of    BIM    for Infrastructure.   They   will   also   discuss   their current  role  with  the  government  and  public sector bodies on the development of BIM. 
 
Along     with     this     AECOM     Development Engineering   National   Lead  for  Infrastructure design will discuss the industry position for BIM products  and  how  they  could  be  incorporated and the challenges we may face. 
 
The discussion topics include; 

  • Where is the industry currently at with BIM for infrastructure,
  • What is happening in the various Transport Sectors, eg Highways and Rail,
  • What benefits can the life cycle elements of BIM and how does it impact planning, design, construction and maintenance, and
  • What is the future of BIM
