Think the car is king in Birmingham?
Think Birmingham is a city solely designed for the automobile?
Think again…
In association with Birmingham City Council (BCC), the CIHT West Midlands Young Professionals Group has organised a guided cycling tour around Birmingham City Centre.
In the company of fellow CIHT members and transportation professionals, you will have the chance to explore Birmingham’s cycle network. With the Birmingham Cycle Revolution well and truly underway it is an exciting time to be cycling in Britain’s Second City.
The event is an hour and half tour run by experienced and knowledgeable guides who will take the group through some of Birmingham’s existing and proposed cycling infrastructure enabling us as transport professionals to gain first-hand experience of the city centre cycling facilities and enlightening us about some of the requirements for cyclists in Birmingham.
Don’t worry if you are not an experienced cyclist or do not own your own bike as Birmingham City Council have kindly offered to lend us some bikes for the tour which will be conducted at a leisurely speed.
After our cycle, we are planning on heading to the pub to get some well-earned refreshments and relaxation!
Do not miss out on this great chance to get active and socialise with fellow transport professionals, with the added bonus of gaining first-hand experience of Birmingham’s cycling network.
Tickets are FREE but spaces are limited to 20 so book now to avoid disappointment!
