Branch Officer's Conference 2009

The 2009 Branch Conference will take place on 9 and 10 November 2009. A dinner will be held on Monday 9 November and the main conference on Tuesday 10 November.

The Dinner and Accommodation on the 9th will be at The Thistle Hotel, Barbican, London - http://www.thistle.com/hotels/barbican/ and the Conference the following day will take place at IHT's Offices at Britannia Walk, about a 10 minute walk from the Hotel.

On the Monday you will be able to check into the Hotel from 2:30pm and on the
Tuesday the conference will finish by 4pm. Please take these times into account
when booking your travel.

Travel
If travelling by public transport then the nearest tube stations are Old Street or
Barbican Stations. Thistle City Barbican is on Central Street, 10 minutes walk from either tube station.

The nearest airport is London City Airport - 10 miles from the Hotel

This year, we are planning on holding a separate event for Web Officers. This
will be held at the IHT Offices and the date will be circulated shortly. The session
will last for a full day with lunch provided at a local restaurant.

Delegates
Due to the separate session for Web Officers we are inviting branches to send 3
delegates to the branch conference this year. As in previous years, if you would
like to nominate additional delegates they can be placed on a waiting list. Last
year it was possible to accommodate everyone's requirements however this is
not guaranteed! It is suggested that, this year, branches could consider sending
their branch secretary, branch treasurer plus one other. This could be
someone on the branch committee who hasn't attended a branch conference
before - it doesn't have to be one of the official officers. Younger members or
members of the committee who might be considering standing for an officer
position would be very welcome.

If you have yet to do so, please email your delegate lists to membership@iht.org giving details of name and position on committee. Please also state in the email if accommodation is not required for the night of 9th.
