The speakers are as follows: -
Mark Harris – Business Development Director
Has been in the construction and contracting industry for 26 years and has been with Balfour Beatty for 10 years, working predominantly on Street Lighting PFI’s. Was part of the core team that financially closed the Sunderland PFI and bid director for the bid and financial close of South Tyneside, Derby, Coventry, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Street Lighting PFI’s.
Prior to this time has spent 16 years in the provision of water treatment facilities on turnkey design, build and operate plants in varying operational and management roles.
Pat Walsh – General Manager
Pat has over twenty years experience in the highways sector for both private sector and local authority employers. After graduating he specialised in bridge engineering before becoming chartered in 1996. He progressed through the ranks, taking that fatal step into management. Pat joined Balfour Beatty as a General Manager in February 2011, specifically to deliver the Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Street lighting PFI’s.
Neil Platt – CMS Engineer
Having left university, Neil worked in the IT & Education sector until joining Balfour Beatty in 2006 as an Asst. Bid Manager. After closing Derby, Coventry, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Street lighting PFIs over the last 5 years, he has moved into a operational role looking after the Central Management Systems. Neil has helped to develop a CMS system which is now rolling out across 3 PFIs and will total 100,000 units. He is part of the ILP technical panel and continues to push for innovation in street lighting that reduces energy consumption.
