This event, organised by CIHT East Midlands in collaboration with the University of Nottingham Postgraduate Engineering Society (PGES), will provide an opportunity to hear from three local East Midlands speakers on their career paths and the career advice they could give for PhD students. This will be held in person at the University of Nottingham.
This event is in collaboration with the University of Nottingham PGES and Yulan Lyu from University of Nottingham (and the Young Professionals Chair for the CIHT East Midlands Committee) will host this event.
In the first half, our three main speakers: Nick Thom from University of Nottingham, Federico Perrotta from AECOM and Jwan Kamla from Jacobs will deliver approximately 20 min presentations about their career paths and the career advice they could give for PhD students, respectively.
In the second half, we will look to network and continue the discussion in small groups, with both the speakers and our local CIHT East Midlands committee members joining the groups as well to answer questions and converse.
This event will be free and welcome to both CIHT members and non-members. This is also a great opportunity for students to learn more about CIHT and network with local CIHT committee members.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Spaces are limited for this session so please book in advance to secure your place.
This event is mainly aimed at PhD students to explore their career options after PhD. It will also be of particular interest to any students or early career professionals who want to understand more about the transportation industry and CIHT. All members and non-members of CIHT are welcome to join.
