Greg Saunders - Education and Qualifications Officer, CIHT
Greg's background is in education, advising professionals and students on how they can achieve professional registration to progress their careers. CIHT offer access to the full range of engineering qualifications (EngTech, IEng and CEng) as well as the Chartered Transport Planning Professional (TPP) award. TPP is awarded jointly by CIHT and TPS and administered by CIHT. Greg will be able to advise you on the different levels of registration available, including your route to gaining the qualification, how to apply and the assessment process.
Tony Kivistik, CIHT Professional Qualifications Reviewer
Tony works in consultancy as a Technical Director at Mott MacDonald. He has 22 years industry experience and is both a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Transport Planner through the CIHT. Tony volunteers his time to the institution in various ways including serving as an elected ordinary member of Council. Over the last 10 years Tony has mentored many Incorporated and Chartered candidates through the professional qualifications process. Tony has also been an active professional qualifications reviewer for 4 years.
Chris Hunt IEng MCIHT, Scotland Active Travel Lead, AtkinsRéalis
Chris is an Incorporated Civil Engineer with the CIHT with 14 years’ experience in the highways and transportation sector. Currently serving as Scotland Active Travel Lead at AtkinsRéalis, Chris has progressed through roles in site engineering, traffic and transportation engineering, and project delivery. Chris achieved IEng with the CIHT in April 2024 and will share insights from his professional journey and experience of the IEng qualification process.
Gordon Buchan CEng FCIHT, Sector Director – Energy, Pell Frischmann
Gordon leads Pell Frischmann’s Energy sector from Edinburgh. A Transport Planner , he has worked on wide range of projects across the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and the Baltic States, specialising in private sector development and renewable energy projects. After two decades of putting it off, he submitted his application in 2024, becoming a Chartered Engineer through CIHT in April 2024. Gordon will share some of his application experience and provide advice for others engaged on the process.
