The project completes the missing link between the end of the M74 at Fullarton Road Junction near Carmyle and the M8 motorway west of Kingston Bridge near Glasgow city centre.
The five mile (8 kilometre) motorway link will comprise three lanes in each direction and a hard shoulder on each side. Construction work on the road began in 2008 and is scheduled for completion in 2011- Valued around £445 million.
This will be a one day site visit departing Inverness at approx 0800 with pick-up points en route by request.
It is intended that a coach will be used for transport – which will also convey the party between the site locations.
A tour guide from the Contractors Joint Venture would be on the coach to explain the works in detail.
Anyone wishing to reserve a place should contact the ICE Branch Secretary as soon as possible
