CIHT Colas Presentation Award Scotland Round

This year the CIHT in Scotland is inviting members of the Institution to enter the Colas Presentation Award competition

The CIHT Colas Presentation Awards is a competition designed to recognise young professionals of CIHT and to encourage them to develop their communication and presentation skills.  The ability to make an effective presentation and field questions from industry professionals is recognised as a key skill for those working in highways and transportation.

The local competition will be held on the 28th May 2015, giving entrants the spring months to prepare their presentation.  Entrants must be under 35 and ideally be members of either the CIHT Central & Southern Scotland or North of Scotland Branches (soon to be CIHT Scotland), although entry to the local competition is open to all.  

Entrants are invited to prepare a 10 minute presentation on any subject relevant to the profession. Entrants may talk about a project they have worked on, an interesting aspect of their job, a technical innovation, a research project, or some more general issue such as how to attract people to the profession.

If you are interested in participating please send an abstract outlining your proposed topic along with your contact details to russell.henderson@aecom.com by 17th April with final presentations to be received by 1st May.  The entries will be reviewed and shortlisted to select those who will be invited to present on the 28th May.
